The Remarkable Journey of Coyote Sunrise // Dan Geminhardt

I teared up a few times with this book. I should've known reading it on a beach while kids were laughing and splashing in the water and parents sunned and chatted was a mistake. Although, side note, sunglasses and hat do make it easier to hide the tears if you find yourself ambushed by a book while reading in public.

Coyote and her dad--but don't tell him that--Rodeo live in a bus. They drive it around and go wherever they please.

They used to live somewhere, but because of a terrible accident that led to a terrible loss they no longer live in a house with a foundation. Now they are nation travelers. It's just how they like it.

But Coyote is realizing she doesn't actually like it. She's just about hit the end of her rope pretending for her dad.

Along the journey, despite trying their best to NOT form attachments, they make some incredible friends who help them face the past.

A fun yet heartbreaking yet ultimately uplifting story. You will also go on a remarkable journey if you read it.

*Found this entry in a notebook, remembered I had started a reading blog and then just let it drop, so thought I'd post this since it was truly a delightful book. Finished the book August 2022; this post was written 8/28/22.
